Origami is an art that has been evolving for centuries. It did originate in Japan, however people have been making their own variations of the art of folded paper. The art has been passed down to other countries along the way and have made their own versions of origami. Even up to this day, people still enjoy taking a single piece of paper and creating into something beautiful.

The composed Japanese words of "oru" (to fold) and "kami" (paper) is what we now know as origami. Back then in the 1600's, it would've been a privilege to be able to partcipate in this art because it was strictly used only for ceremonial and religious purposes in Japan. Over time, origami has been used recreationally and eventually an art spread around the globe. Up to this day, people still use paper as a medium when creating their beautiful master pieces.
