There's a reason why not that many people know about the Philippines, and it's because the country hasn't done anything that most people can't remember it for... until now. Most celebrities leave behind a legacy, but this man has made history. Starting at the age of 14, he's already training to be a professional boxer. However it was until 2008 that people were starting to recognize him. Although that boxing isn't one of the most popular sports out there, it has become a great spectacle for Filipinos all around the globe and they watch it for one reason only, and it's to watch Manny Pacquiao knock out his next opponent.

His popularity has grown over the past decades and more people are starting to recognize his name. Pacquiao has become a worldwide phenomenon and not just because of his great agility, but for his kind heart. It's unbelievable how he became a Congressman in the Philippines, I got to give him props for representing. He has so much respect for his fans and his fans have continued to give him the support he deserves. All of the hard work and dedication has brought him many blessings in his life. HIs beautiful children and wife have been the joy of his life, and although that he's been doing politics, he hasn't lost focus of his true passions. Just the sight of him practicing at the Wild Card in LA is so extraordinary. His techniques are unique and he's like no other boxer around.

This has become a big deal for Filipinos everywhere because Pacquiao has brought hope to our homeland. The Philippines is a third world country made of over 7,000 islands and it's not really noticed by the other nations. It was until Pacquiao made a name for himself which created a surge of Pinoy pride among every Filipino and we've been supporting him every step of the way. Since I'm Filipino myself, his success has definitely influenced me to do great things in my life and I hope to make the Filipinos out there to be proud.

Now he's about to face an opponent that the whole world has been waiting for. This match has been 5 years in the making, and obviously I've been waiting even longer for this fight to happen. It doesn't even need any promotions or public advertising. Remember this date, May 2nd, because this is the match that will go down in boxing history.

Floyd Mayweather, you better watch out!
